Q @ 2 ... Terrible? Pas de Tout!

Quinn Ryan, you are just a JOY at 2 years old.  You are sweet, kind, loving, & thoughtful. One example arose yesterday morning.  You put a packet of oatmeal in my backpack that I take to work.  You said, "I put oat-me-meal in yee backpack, Mommy! Eat at work!"  You melted Mommy in that moment.  Other examples of your great big heart of gold: singing Twinkle, Twinkle & Rock a Bye Baby to Baby Tait, kissing Baby Tait, ordering Mommy to "go see Baby Tait" after you give me an exuberant greeting when I get home from work each day, kissing Mommy & Daddy's boo-boos, loving on the puppy & the kitties, saying "I love you, Mommy" & "Have a good day, Mommy!".  Siiiiiiiiiiigh. Quinn, you are so sweet & silly, you amaze me more & more each day.  Your vocabulary is really growing, too.  Some of my favorite things that you say currently are:
"Let's have conversation, Mommy" (conversation?! that's a big word for someone who is not yet 2 & a half!), "good idea, Mommy, good idea.", "Read Little Drummer BOY!" ...  There are so many more that I will have to add as I think of them.

You are excited for Christmas this year.  You & Baby Tait sat on Santa's lap at Somerset last week.  You told Santa that you want a bike & a helmet this year.  You are such a good girl, that I think you just might get it!

... Other things that you doing now are:

  • Counting. You love to count.  You can easily count all the way to up to 20!!  You count food, Little People, body parts, people, you name it, Quinn counts it!
  • You really have a handle on your colors & you are quickly learning letters, too.
  • We've created a bit of a monster in that you LOVE to jump on Mommy & Daddy's bed while we change our clothes after work.  "I jump, i jump!  I jump high, MommyDaddy!"  The other day you were so insistent on  jumping on our bed - where I had Baby Tait laying - that you went to your room, & pushed Tait's bassinet into our bedroom & said "Put Baby Tait in bassinet, Mommy!".
  • You love to go to Starbuck's ("Sar-bux") with Mommy.  You get "chocca meelk" & Mommy gets "La-tay!"  The other day you told me that the Little People in your airplane & a few rubber ducks were going to Starbuck's.  Look at the influence that Mommy has!  LOL
  • You love to go "Some-set" (Somerset Collection" to see the Big Ball (giant granite ball with water running under it) & shop with Mommy.  You particularly like the shoe department @ Nordstrom.  So does Mommy. No surprise there.  You've been known to shriek "shooooooooooooooooes!" when we go.  Love it!

We love you so much.  You are such a joy!!!

All my love,
Mommy

Celebrating Christmas <early> at Grandma & Grandpa Deubys ...

Christmas Eve at Grammy & Grandpa Pattersons

Your  very first Cabbage Patch Kid! Christmas morning at our house

Little Deuby Ladies

This is how we told the Deubys that your baby brother was on the way: a Big Sis tank top over your Christmas dress to surprise everyone!

a playdate with your cousins @ Tim & Melindas

12/1/2010: You took a STEP!!!  ... All by yourself from the bathroom sink to Mumma, about 12 inches away.

12/2/2010: You consistently point to your mouth to indicate hunger.  This is VERY helpful, especially to go along with your signs for "more" & "all done".

12/9/2010: You say "hey!" in all the right spots when we sing Jingle Bells. SO cute! When we ask you what Santa says, you respond, "oh oh oh" & you pat your adorably soft little toddler tummy. Priceless!

12/11/2010: I MUST make a note of your sweet & innocent "tee hee hee" giggle when you are enjoying something.  It's just precious & impossible to accurately & adequately describe the wonder, the sweetness, & the innocence of it.  I can only hope we have caught it on film somewhere along the way.  You are the most precious creature we could have ever imagined.

12/21/2010: You WALKED all by yourself for the first time!!!!!!!  This, we do have on film.  SO exciting!! You were almost 17 months old.

Peepee in the Potty! (10/2/2011) - needs pix

Dear Quinn - You went peepee in the potty! Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhoooooooo! Hooray!! It happened last Sunday. Mommy was changing Baby Tait. You asked to sit on the potty. I happily obliged. Moments later you came into Tait's room (directly across the hall from the bathroom) with wet toilet paper in your hand. Surprised, as you've sat on the potty lots but hadn't yet gone, I asked if you went peepee. "Yeeeeeaaaah!", you exclaimed! Sure enough, you had peepee on your leg.  Then the happy dance ensued.  Mommy scooped you up into my arms & around & around we danced.  I was so excited for you!!  We then proceeded to call Daddy (he was visiting a friend across the state for the day) & both  your grandmas.  Everyone was so excited for you!  Mommy was the proudest of them all!!  I suppose it was no coincidence that you had worn your first Pull-Up ever that day.  BabyLady, Mommy just soaks up all these new experiences with you with pride & love.

All my love for always,
Mommy

October 2010

14-15 months old

  • 10/1/2010: You can say 4 animal sounds: dog, cow, kitty, monkey.
  • 10/2/2010: Grandma Deuby gave you your first haircut ... sort of.  We just cut your bangs to keep them out of your beautiful big blue eyes.  You were none too thrilled with the experience.
  • 10/3/2010: We took you to the cider mill for the first time, Yates Cider Mill in Rochester.  Dexter came, too!
  • 10/7/2010: You were diagnosed with Roseola after having a low fever on & off for a few days.  You broke out in the rash between home & the pediatrician's office!  That was your first real sickness.
  • 10/15/2010: You climbed up the stairs all by yourself on all fours.
  • When you are tired & ready for nap, you wave bye-bye to Dexter
  • You looooooove to play with Little People.
  • 10/23/2010: 20 lbs. 7 oz. (10th percentile) & 31 in. (75th percentile)
All my love for always,
Mommy
